A magical GNO – Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom Park

Have you ever dreamed of having Magic Kingdom all to yourself? What if I told you there is an event that brings that dream to life?

Well, get ready to make all your castle-selfies-with-no-one-in-the-background dreams come TRUE! The Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom Park special ticket event offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the park “After Hours” with very, VERY low crowds.

Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom: HOURS

The event begins at 10:00 P.M. and ends at the stroke of 1:00 A.M. Three hours might not sound like a lot of time to get much done. But it’s amazing what you can do when you are able to walk on to most all attractions!

My Disney Parks Moms Panel sister and I were able to enjoy 14 attractions during the event. Yes, you read that right. FOURTEEN! And that included 5-magical train rides on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, the most popular attraction at Magic Kingdom since it opened 5-years ago. Check out our adventure on my Instagram highlighted stories!

During the event, complimentary ice cream treats like Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars, popcorn, and bottled soft drinks are offered. Specifically, Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, and Water. Casey’s Corner and Main Street Bakery are also open during the event if you need a little extra fuel for the evening. I definitely recommend getting a little caffeine boost, if that’s your thing, so you can blaze through the night without getting sleepy.

Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom Pro-Tips!

The event begins at 10pm, but your special ticket grants you access to the park starting at 7pm, so take advantage of that extra time, watch the fireworks, fuel up, and get ready for a magical evening!

When you arrive, you will see a special entrance for event-goers where you will scan your MagicBand or hard ticket and receive a lanyard and event info sheet. Browse that info so you know which attractions are open and where to find the goodies! If you are already at the park, look for the marked check-in areas so you don’t have to walk all the way to the front. I spotted one in Tomorrowland across from the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor where the FP+ Kiosks are and another next to Sleepy Hollow in Liberty Square.

Want a special souvenir before you head home? The Emporium will be open through the evening so you can take home a piece of the magic.

Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom – Picture Perfect

Remember those selfie-dreams? Once 1:00 A.M. rolls around, guests will slowly make their way out of the park. This is when you’ll want to linger a bit longer, as long as Cast Members are not kindly asking you to leave; they want to get some rest too, you know! But if you are a tad patient at the end of the night, you can get some really magical pictures with Cinderella Castle and nothing else but pixie dust! Disney’s PhotoPass photographers are also available to snap some high-quality photos that you can enjoy with Memory Maker.

The event is currently priced at $119 or $89 for Annual Passholders (plus applicable taxes).

Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom – Heading Home

It’s over. Now how do we get back to our hotel at 1am? Hakuna Matata! Disney transportation has got’chu! Buses will be running to whisk you away to an enchanted sleep. And if you parked at the Ticket and Transportation Center (MK Parking), the Ferry will be making some late night trips there.

After experiencing this event, I think it’s definitely worth it! But consider your crew. If your littles are used to going to bed early, plan it out with a nap before the event. You’ll know best if this is a good fit for your family.

Let me know if you have any questions about this event or if you’re planning on attending anytime soon! I hope you have a magical time during your visit.

Livin’ la vida Disney,

PS: Here are some more shots of empty Magic Kingdom. *swoon*
